NSI President Reneta Indjova, Ph.D. will participate in the 17<sup>th</sup> meeting of the European Statistical System Committee
The NSI President Reneta Indjova, Ph.D. will participate in the 17th meeting of the European Statistical System Committee (ESSC), which will be held in the premises of Eurostat in Luxembourg on 15-16 May 2013. This is the second out of four ESSC meetings for the calendar year, chaired by Eurostat and attended by the Heads of National Statistical Offices of the Member States and representatives of EFTA countries, ECB and OECD.

Today, 8.05.2013, Annex for cooperation and exchange of information between the National Statistical Institute and the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences was signed at the National Statistical Institute, as part of an agreement for cooperation and strategic partnership between NSI and Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.

NSI President bestowed a prize on the occasion of "2013 - International Year of Statistics"
On 29/04/2013, at the invitation of the President of NSI Ph.D. Reneta Indjova, at the National Statistical Institute was held a meeting with Mr. Svilen Donev - student at First English Language School in Sofia, who won third prize in the international competition to produce a video on the occasion "2013 - International Year of Statistics" with a video titled "Statistics - Grammar of Science".
The President of NSI handed the winner a special congratulatory award-memorial coin "2013 - International Year of Statistics."

The European Forum for Geostatistics 2013 Sofia Conference
With the partnership of the National Statistical Institute of Bulgaria, the sixth conference of the European Forum for Geostatistics (EFGS) will take place from 23rd to 25th October 2013 in Sofia at Radisson Blue Grand Hotel, situated on the Narodno Sabranie Square.
The forum will discuss on topics related to spatial statistics from different data sources with a main focus on identifying the needs of data users.

NSI will provide expertise for the State Statistical Office of the Republic of Macedonia
On 2-4 April, 2013, the National Statistical Institute provides expertise in the field of business demography for the State Statistical Office of the Republic of Macedonia. The visit is funded by IPA 2011 Multi-Beneficiary Statistical Co-operation Programme (IPA 2011). During the three-day visit, Mr Anastas Troianski, Head of the "Business Registers" Department, will give a basic overview of the business demography methodology, type of business demography events and description of the sources used, quality evaluation of the data and confidentiality issues.
