The NSI President Reneta Indjova, Ph.D. will participate in two Statistical Fora in Paris

On 7 and 8 April 2014 in Paris, France, the 11th Meeting of the OECD Committee on Statistics and Statistical Policy (CSSP) will take place. With a Decision of the Council of Ministers as of 27 January 2011, the President of the National Statistical Institute is designated to represent the Republic of Bulgaria as an ad hoc observer during the meetings of the OECD Committee on Statistics and Statistical Policy. In the framework of the 11th meeting issues related to the economic growth and the measurement of well-being and progress will be discussed.

“Merging statistics and geospatial information” project

NSI has started a project entitled “Merging statistics and geospatial information” implemented in accordance with the Grant agreement with the European Commission № 08143.2013.004-2013.439.

The project aims at Improving the statistical production process with integration of spatial information with Core health care statistical data by following the INSPIRE. Expected results are producing the geo-referenced merged  in-patient and outpatient health establishments and medical personnel with  population data set at the level of “Health regions”.

“Learning mobility” project

NSI has started a project entitled “Learning mobility” implemented in accordance with the Grant agreement with the European Commission № 07151.2013.001-2013.557. The main activity of the project is the pilot collection of data on learning mobility through a household survey conducted in 2014. The target population consists of all persons aged 18-34 who during their studies have had a minimum training period of two weeks abroad.

NSI of Bulgaria will participate in the 20th meeting of the European Statistical System Committee

The National Statistical Institute of Bulgaria will participate in the 20th meeting of the European Statistical System Committee (ESSC), which will be held in the premises of Eurostat in Luxembourg on 13 February 2014. This is the first out of four ESSC meetings for the calendar year, chaired by Eurostat and attended by the Heads of National Statistical Offices of the Member States and representatives of EFTA countries, ECB and OECD.

Agreement between the National Statistical Institute and the "Working Conditions" Fund for updating "Accidents" and "Occupational Diseases" statistical systems

On January 14, 2014, an agreement between NSI and the "Working Conditions" Fund was concluded for updating "Accidents" and "Occupational diseases" statistical systems according to European statistics on accidents at work (European statistics on Accidents at Work - ESAW) and the European statistics on occupational diseases (European Occupational Diseases Statistics - EODS).
