Launched a project "Development of the data collection system and application of new methods for compilation of Physical Energy Flow Accounts"

The implementation of the project aims the adoption of Eurostat methodology and application of standardized methods, concepts and definitions contained in the Eurostat’s Draft Manual on Physical Energy Flow Accounts.

The implementation of the project „Labour force survey - 2013 ad hoc module on accidents at work and other work related health problems” is according to a Grant Agreement with European Commission No 10502.2012.001-2012.457.

The aim of the project is to provide internationally comparable data on:

• Number, socio-demographic and occupational characteristics of persons, having accidents at work within previous 12 months.

The first from five planned SEEMIG Newsletters is already published in Bulgarian. The themes included are: the main goal and events concerning project and the most important facts related to the migration in the South-East Europe. The Bulgarian partners, tendencies in the development and data from the Population and housing census 2011 are also presented.

On 17-18 December 2012, for a second time in December, the National Statistical Institute hosts training for statisticians from the State Statistical Office of the Republic of Macedonia. The visit is funded by the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance of the European Commission (IPA 2009). The training aims to introduce Macedonian colleagues with EU legislation in the field of Transport and Environmental Statistics and its implementation in Bulgaria.

In December 2012 the National Statistical Institute started the project "Horizontal and vertical integration: Implementing of technical and statistical standards in the European Statistical System" according to a Grant agreement 60502.2012.003-2012.098 of the European Commission.

On 10 and 11 December 2012, experts from the State Statistical Office of the Republic of Macedonia are visiting the National Statistical Institute of Bulgaria. The aim of the study visit is to obtain knowledge and benefit from the NSI experience on the implementation of EU legislation in the field of statistics. The visit is funded by the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance of the European Commission (IPA 2009).

At its third meeting for 2012, held on November 30 at the building of the NSI, the National Statistical Council considered and adopted the Report for 2012, which represents the implementation of the tasks of NSP (National Statistical Programme) 2012 and NSI activities during the past year.

12^th grade Students from "Elin Pelin", 19^th Secondary School, profile "Entrepreneurship and Business", visited the National Statistical Institute on November 22, 2012.

In this study visit the students met with key experts from NSI and got acquainted with the process of collection, production and dissemination of statistical information, as well as the practical side of business surveys and other statistical surveys.

The National statistical institute is a partner to „Managing migration and its effects in South-East Europe - transnational actions towards evidence based strategies” project (SEEMIG), which is realized by the Transnational Cooperation Programme “South East Europe 2007 - 2013" (http://www.southeast-europe.net/hu/).

The NSI President Reneta Indjova, Ph.D. will participate in the 15^th meeting of the European Statistical System Committee (ESSC), which will be held in the premises of Eurostat in Luxembourg on 15 November 2012. This is the last, fourth meeting this year of ESSC, chaired by Eurostat and attended by the Heads of National Statistical Offices of the Member States and representatives of EFTA countries, ECB and OECD. The previous meeting was held in late September in Prague, the Czech Republic.
