‘Labour Force Survey ad hoc module 2016 on young people on the labour market’ project
The National Statistical Institute has started work on the ‘Labour Force Survey ad hoc module 2016 on young people on the labour market’ project. The implementation of the project is according to the Grant Agreement with the European Commission No. 07153.2015.001-2015.421.
The aim of the project is to provide internationally comparable data for monitor and analyse the progress towards objectives set by the EU2020 Strategy:
Foreign Trade of Bulgaria in Digital Format
Digital Library of the National Statistical Institute provides free of charge online access to the whole collection ‘Foreign Trade Statistics of Bulgaria’ for the 1880 - 2009 period.
The collection contains more than 52 000 pages and provides opportunity to trace the development of Bulgaria's foreign trade, as well as changes and improvement of methods and technology of gathering, processing and presentation of statistical information in the 135-year history of the Bulgarian state statistics.
Project ‘Regional Business Demography - 2015’
The National Statistics Institute has started the project ‘Regional Business Demography – 2015’ according to the European Commission grant agreement № 2015.CE.16.BAT.054.
The project duration is 7 months and aims to set up a sustainable system for the efficient production of regional business demography indicators. NSI will collect regional business demography data for reference years 2011, 2012 and 2013.
Annual Conference of the Directors-General of National Statistical Institutes and meeting of the European Statistical System Committee
The Conference of the Directors-General of National Statistical Institutes (DGINS) is the most important forum in the European Union for discussions about the future and development of the European Statistical System (ESS). It is held once a year in one of the EU Member States. The Director-General of the host country's National Statistical Institute acts as chairperson. The Heads of the National Statistical Offices, representatives of the European Commission, the United Nations and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development participate in this meeting.
NSI successfully passed certification audit of quality of the electronic services provided in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008
During the period October 2014 - April 2015 the National Statistical Institute (NSI) developed and implemented a Quality Management System (QMS) of the electronic services provided in accordance with ISO 9001:2008. After the successful finalization of this stage a certification audit of the System was conducted by “Rina Bulgaria”, during which was determined full compliance of the QMS with the requirements of the standard.
Visit of the Director-General of Eurostat
On July 6, 2015 the Director-General of Eurostat, Walter Radermacher, accompanied by the Deputy Director-General of the European institution, Mariana Kotzeva, arrived for a daylong visit at the National Statistical Institute of Bulgaria.
The NSI trains experts from the Statistical Office of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia in the field of Consumer Price statistics
On 22 - 25 June 2015 the National Statistical Institute will host a four-day study visit on which experts from ‘Macroeconomic Statistics’ Directorate will acquaint their Macedonian colleagues with Bulgarian experience in the field of Consumer price statistics.
During the study visit the main issues will be devoted to:
• Review and implementation of the legislation in the field of consumer price statistics
Meeting of the National Statistical Council
At its first meeting for 2015, held on June 12, 2015, the National Statistical Council (NSC) considered four main objectives of the new law on European statistics, which modifies the Regulation (EC) № 223/2009, namely:
• Strengthening the professional independence;
• Clarification of the coordinating role of the NSI;
Annual Conference of European Statisticians
The 63rd plenary session of the Conference of European Statisticians (CES) will be held in the period 15 - 17 June, 2015 in Geneva, Switzerland.
The conference provides a platform for coordination of international statistical activities in the region of United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), to solve emerging problems and develop methodological guidelines and recommendations to improve national statistics and their international comparability.
