Preliminary data of the NSI for the first quarter of 2017 indicate that the total hourly labour cost rose by 10.1% compared to the first quarter of 2016.

The number of health establishments for hospital aid as of 31.12.2016 was 345 with 51 816 beds. 321 of them were hospitals with 49 589 beds.
The number of out-patient health establishments was 2 029 with 1 163 beds and other health establishments were 140 with 2 193 beds in them.
At the end of 2016 29 539 physicians were in practice under the basic labour contracts in health establishments. Dentists were 8 011, as 7 174 worked in practices that had signed contract with National Health Insurance Fund. Medical specialists on 'Health cares' who worked on a basic labour contract in health establishments were 46 930. 30 976 of them were nurses and 3 254 - midwives.
The consumer price index in May 2017 compared to April 2017 was 99.7%, i.e. the monthly inflation was -0.3%.
Consumption per capita varied by more than one to two across EU Member States. GDP per capita by almost one to six.
In April 2017, 1 965 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed-places were functioned in the country. The total number of the rooms in them was 67.2 thousand and the bed-places were 148.7 thousand. In comparison with April 2016, the total number of accommodation establishments (functioned during the period) decreased with 1.0%, and the bed-places in them - by 1.4%.
The total number of the nights spent in all accommodation establishments registered in April 2017 was 908.0 thousand, or by 11.5% more in comparison with the same month of the previous year.
The total revenues from nights spent in April 2017 reached 44.2 million BGN or by 16.9% more compared to April 2016.
In the period January - April 2017 the Bulgarian exports to third countries increased by 22.1% compared to the same period of 2016 and amounted to 5 653.2 Million BGN while the imports grew by 38.5% and added up to 6 870.5 Million BGN.
In the period January - April 2017 the total value of all exported goods (both for third countries and EU) amounted to 16 072.4 Million BGN and in comparison with the corresponding period of the previous year the exports increased by 13.0% while the total value of all imported goods added up to 18 627.4 Million BGN and grew by 19.9%.
In the period January - March 2017 the Bulgarian exports to the EU increased by 12.2% compared to the same period of 2016 and amounted to 7 915.2 Million BGN while the imports grew by 11.4% and added up to 8 773.0 Million BGN.
In March 2017 the exports to the EU increased by 18.1% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and added up to 2 960.6 Million BGN while the imports grew by 10.1% and amounted to 3 309.6 Million BGN.
According to the preliminary data, in April 2017 the index of production in section ‘Construction’ calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data was 1.8% below the level of the previous month. In April 2017 the working day adjusted index of production in construction increased by 2.0% in comparison with the same month of 2016.
