Trips of Bulgarian Residents Abroad and Arrivals of Visitors from Abroad to Bulgaria in December 2014

In December 2014, the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 267.7 thousand or by 12.4% above the registered in December 2013. The trips with other purposes (as a guest, education and visit the cultural and sport events) in December  2014 composed the greatest share of the total number of trips of Bulgarian residents abroad - 51.4%, followed by the trips with professional purpose - 26.4%, and with holiday and recreation purposes - 22.2%.

In December 2014, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 430.1 thousands or by 6.0% above the level of December 2013. An increase was registered in the trips with professional purpose and with other purposes by 35.1% and 5.8% respectively, while the trips with holiday and recreation purpose decreased by 25.2%. 

Activity of Accommodation Establishments in November 2014

In November 2014, 1 925 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed places were functioned in the country. The total number of the rooms in them was 55.0 thousands and the bed-places were 109.2 thousands. In comparison with November 2013 the total number of accommodation establishments (functioned during the period) increased by 7.2% and the bed-places in them - by 8.7%.

The total number of the nights spent in all accommodation establishments registered in November 2014 was 595.6 thousands or by 1.2% less in comparison with the same month of the previous year. The total revenues from nights spent in November 2014 reached 29.0 million BGN or by 4.3% more compared to November 2013.

Bulgarian Trade with EU for the Period January - October 2014 (preliminary data)

In the period January - October 2014 the Bulgarian exports to the EU increased by 2.4% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 22.4 Billion BGN while the imports grew by 3.2% and added up to 25.8 Billion BGN.

In October 2014 the exports to the EU increased by 4.9% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to 2.5 Billion BGN while the imports increased by 6.6% and added up to 2.9 Billion BGN.

Bulgarian Trade with Third Countries for the Period January - November 2014 (preliminary data)

In the period January - November 2014 the Bulgarian exports to third countries decreased by 7.1% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 14.9 Billion BGN while the imports decreased by 4.0% and added up to 18.1 Billion BGN.

In the period January - November 2014 the total value of all exported goods (both for third countries and EU) amounted to 39.8 Billion BGN and compared to the corresponding period of 2013 the exports decreased by 1.6% while the total value of all imported goods added up to 46.7 Billion BGN and increased by 0.4%.

Construction Production Indices in November 2014

According to the preliminary data, in November 2014 the index of production in section ‘Construction’, calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data, was 0.5% below the level of the previous month. In November 2014 the working day adjusted index of production in construction increased by 1.4% in comparison with the same month of 2013.

Industrial Production Indices in November 2014

According to the preliminary data the Industrial Production Index, seasonally adjusted, increased by 0.4% in November 2014 as compared to October 2014. In November 2014 the working day adjusted Industrial Production Index rose by 0.9% in comparison with the same month of 2013.

Production and Deliveries of Energy Products, October 2014

In October 2014 compared to September 2014 an increase of the production of solid fuels by 19.3%, liquefied petroleum gases - by 25.0%, unleaded motor gasoline - by 9.2%, transport diesel - by 10.5 and electricity - by 15.1% is reported. At the same time a decrease of the production of natural gas - by 9.1% is reported.

In October 2014 compared to September 2014 an increase of the deliveries of solid fuels by 17.5%, unleaded motor gasoline - by 24.2%, natural gas - by 27.1% and electricity - by 11.6% is reported. At the same time a decrease of the deliveries of liquefied petroleum gases by 5.3% and transport diesel - by 18.0% is reported.
