Newly Built Residential Buildings and Dwellings Completed in the Fourth Quarter of 2019 (preliminary data)

According to preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute in the fourth quarter of 2019 the number of newly built residential buildings was 1 057 and the newly built dwellings in them were 4 474. Compared to the fourth quarter of 2018 the buildings were by 335 more (or by 46.4%) and the newly built dwellings in them increased by 2 101 or by 88.5%.

Building Permits Issued and Construction of New Buildings Started in the Fourth Quarter of 2019

In the fourth quarter of 2019, the municipal authorities issued building permits for construction of 1 512 residential buildings with 7 477 dwellings, of 21 administrative buildings/offices and 1 103 other buildings. The construction of 993 residential buildings with 5 770 dwellings, of 11 administrative buildings/offices and 614 other buildings was started.

In November 2019 compared to October 2019 an increase is reported for the production of electricity - by 11.6%. During the same period, a decrease is reported for the production of solid fuels - by 14.5%, liquefied petroleum gases - by 7.7%, unleaded motor gasoline - by 6.4%, transport diesel - by 9.5% and natural gas - by 50.0%.

In November 2019 compared to October 2019 an increase is reported for the deliveries of unleaded motor gasoline - by 11.1%, natural gas - by 41.5% and electricity - by 7.8%. During the same period, a decrease is reported for the deliveries of solid fuels - by 14.5%, liquefied petroleum gases - by 10.3%, and transport diesel - by 14.8%.

Producer Price Indices in Industry, December 2019

Total Producer Price Index in December 2019 remains unchanged compared to the previous month; compared to the same month of 2018 the prices rose by 3.5%. Producer Price Index on Domestic Market in December 2019 remains unchanged compared to the previous month; compared to the same month of 2018 the domestic prices grew by 4.5%.

Trips of Bulgarian Residents Abroad and Arrivals of Visitors from Abroad to Bulgaria in December 2019

In December 2019, the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 529.3 thousand or by 10.6% above the registered in December 2018. The trips with other purposes (as a guest, education and visit the cultural and sport events) in December 2019 composed the greatest share of the total number of trips of Bulgarian residents abroad - 48.1%, followed by those with holiday and recreation purposes - 28.5%, and with professional purpose - 23.4%.

In December 2019, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 673.4 thousand or by 8.6% more in comparison with December 2018. In December 2019, the predominant share of the visits with other purposes was 46.9%, followed by trips with holiday and recreation purpose - 34.9%, and with professional purpose - 18.2%.

Bulgarian Trade with Third Countries in the Period January - November 2019 (preliminary data)

In the period January - November 2019 the exports of goods from Bulgaria to third countries increased by 4.5% compared to the same period of  2018 and amounted to 17 549.7 Million BGN while the imports of goods from third countries decreased by 12.5% and added up to 18 507.3 Million BGN.

In the period January - November 2019 the total value of all exported goods to third countries and EU amounted to 53 758.2 Million BGN, which is 3.7% more than the same period of 2018, while the total value of all imported goods from third countries and EU added up to 56 324.9 Million BGN and dropped by 2.9%.

Bulgarian Trade with EU in the Period January - October 2019 (preliminary data)

In the period January - October 2019 the Bulgarian exports to the EU grew by 3.4% compared to the same period of 2018 and amounted to 32 681.1 Million BGN while the imports from the EU increased by 2.6% and reached 34 112.7 Million BGN.

In October 2019 the exports to the EU increased by 4.8% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to 3 632.0 Million BGN while the imports grew by 6.2% and added up to 3 903.0 Million BGN.
