In April 2021, during the continuing epidemic situation, 1 732 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed-places functioned in the country. The total number of the rooms in them was 51.3 thousand and the bed-places were 103.8 thousand.

The total number of the nights spent in all accommodation establishments registered in April 2021 was 413.7 thousand.

The total revenues from nights spent in April 2021 reached 21.9 million BGN, as 16.1 million were from Bulgarians and 5.8 million - from foreigners.

According to the preliminary data, in April 2021 the index of production in section ‘Construction’ calculated on the basis of seasonally adjusted data was 2.3% above the level of the previous month. In April 2021 the working day adjusted index of production in construction increased by 15.7% in comparison with the same month of 2020.

According to the preliminary seasonally adjusted data in April 2021 the turnover in ‘Retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles’ at constant prices increased by 1.3% compared to the previous month. The working day adjusted turnover rose by 25.9% as compared to the same month of the previous year.

According to the preliminary data in April 2021 the Industrial Production Index, seasonally adjusted increased by 0.2% compared to March 2021.

In April 2021 the working day adjusted Industrial Production Index rose by 22.8% in comparison with the same month of 2020.

According to the seasonally adjusted data, GDP decreased by 1.8% in the first quarter of 2021 compared with the same quarter of 2020.

According to the preliminary data, GDP per person employed increased in real terms by 2.0% in the first quarter of 2021 compared to the same quarter of the previous year.

Total Producer Price Index in April 2021 increased by 0.3% compared to the previous month and with 9.8% compared to the same month of 2020. Producer Price Index on Domestic Market in April 2021 increased by 0.9% compared to the previous month; compared to the same month of 2020 the domestic prices rose by 6.8%.

According to preliminary data during the first quarter of 2021 in comparison with the same quarter of 2020 the goods carried and the transport performance by the freight land and water transport increased.

In the first quarter of 2021 there was a decrease both in the transported passengers (by 31.4%) and the transport performance (by 29.4%) from the passenger transport (land, water and urban electrical transport) compared to the same period of the previous year.

In March 2021 compared to February 2021 an increase is reported for the production of solid fuels - by 3.2%, liquefied petroleum gases - by 40.0%, unleaded motor gasoline - by 24.2%, transport diesel - by 45.1%, and electricity - by 13.5%. No change for the production of natural gas.

In March 2021 compared to February 2021 an increase is reported for the deliveries of solid fuels - by 4.2%, liquefied petroleum gases - by 15.6%, transport diesel - by 1.9%, natural gas - by 8.6%, and electricity - by 6.4%. A decrease is reported for the deliveries of unleaded motor gasoline - by 5.4%.
