Transport (railway transport, passengers bus transport, maritime transport, inland waterway transport, freight road transport and urban electrical transport) in the Second Quarter of 2025 (preliminary data)

In the second quarter of 2025, there was an increase of 0.3% in the goods carried by land and water freight transport and the transport performance rose by 5.5% in comparison with the previous quarter.

The passengers carried by passenger transport (land, water and urban electrical transport) as well as the transport performance went up - by 5.3 and 1.8% respectively.

The data are preliminary and seasonally adjusted.

In the second quarter of 2025, compared to the same period of the previous year:

• The goods carried by land transport rose by 6.2% and the transport performance rose by 3.8%;
• The inland waterway and maritime transport carried 311.77 thousand tonnes less goods and the performance, measured in tonne-kilometers, recorded a 4.5% drop;
• The number of passengers carried by land transport increased by 6.4%, while the performance declined by 13.7%;
• The water passenger transport reported a fall of 11.8 thousand in passenger numbers, whereas the performance remained unchanged in terms of passenger-kilometres;
• The urban electric transport enterprises carried 4.3% more passengers and the performance rose by 10.3%.
