The preliminary data for 2024, published by NSI, refer to the production and supply of fuels and energy in the country. Changes were observed for individual energy products compared to the reported data for 2023.
A significant decrease was observed in the indigenous production of lignite coal - by 28.5%, which presented 96.4% of the total production of solid fuels. For the same period, their deliveries decreased by 21.7%.
The refinery feedstocks, used in the refineries for the production of petroleum products, increased by 6.3% compared to 2023, as crude oil had the main share -91.6%. Respectively, an increase was also observed in the production of petroleum products - by 6.4%. Deliveries of petroleum products in 2024 increased by 4.9%.
The production of natural gas decreased by 15.7% compared to the previous year, and the deliveries increased by 7.4%.
Compared to 2023, a decrease was observed also for the gross production of electricity - by 5.5%. Predominant share in it in 2024 continued to have the electricity production from nuclear energy and coal - 64.6%, despite the rapidly increasing share of electricity produced by plants using solar energy - 13.3%. At the same time, the deliveries of electricity raised their 2023 level by 1.6%.
The gross production of heat increased by 1.9% compared to the previous year and the deliveries - by 1.8%.
